Establishing Relationships & Providing Superior Products Everyday

            Kelly L Bohannon

I was privileged enough to get involved in the specialties business when I was 14 years old. You see, I am the third generation in my family to be in this line of work. My grandfather gave me one of the best opportunities a kid could ask for and gave me my first real job working for Distributors of Florida, a division 10 company based out of Jacksonville, FL. I started in accounts payable/receivable and provided assistance to my father with take-off’s, quoting and submittals. But that wasn’t enough for me. Under my father’s wing, I quickly realized there was a lot more to the business than entering bills and answering phones. I wanted to be a project manager and I wanted to be the best at it. Over the last 14 years I have had many opportunities to learn all aspects of this business, including working almost 6 years with Holman, Inc. a specialties installation company in north Jacksonville. I consider myself very blessed to have been given the opportunity to be working with such talented people, both past and present, such as Joe West and my father Larry R. Bohannon Jr. I truly hope that my passion is felt by everyone that I come in contact with, no matter the size of the project or how stressful things get, I give 110% because doing my best everyday isn’t just what my customers expect, it’s what I expect from myself.

I have been actively involved in the Division 10 industry in Central Florida since 1991. After working with a small specialties company in Ocala Florida for 5 years, I accepted a position with Hughes Supply in Orlando as the Div.10 department manager.  While there, we grew the business from a department to a separate branch supplying local customers as well as other Hughes branches throughout the state.  In 2005, I accepted a director level position at corporate with responsibility to add the Div. 10 product line the national accounts program.  From 2008 – 2012 I worked with a major southeastern general contractor based out of Birmingham Alabama as their Div. 10 procurement specialist.  During these years I had the privilege of supplying and managing many Div. 10 projects such as the Kahala Nui Assisted Living Center in Honolulu, the American Embassy in Berlin Germany, multiple projects at Disney World, Enterprise High School in Enterprise Alabama, and the Orlando Magic Arena (Amway Center) in Orlando.

I am pleased to be a part of the team at Commercial Building Specialties and hope that my contribution to the company will add to its strength and professionalism as we strive to serve our customers
